Your role will support the day-to-day operations in providing care and support to people with a range of differing needs, delivering high-quality, person-centred care to individuals. The successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience and new skills, working alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Listed below are the tasks this role will be primarily responsible for:
- To attend to all personal care needs, in line with individual requirements of the service user
- To use specialist equipment to ensure all care needs are met
- To follow requirements of the care plan, support plan, risk management plan etc. as appropriate
- To encourage individuals to participate in activities and support individuals in those activities
- To develop/contribute to the development of activities that are of benefit/interest to the individual
- To work to all policies and procedures, e.g. safeguarding, infection control, health and safety etc.
- To work as a keyworker
- To participate and contribute to service user reviews
- To work independently with service users as required – either within a care or community setting, escorting on transport etc.
- To support people to access community based activities, reflecting their choices and interests, including the use of public resources and transport
- To complete and maintain documentation relevant to the service and the service user
- To highlight any areas of concern to a senior member of staff
- Maintain a clean and tidy environment
- To ensure service users feel respected and fully involved in their care
- Training will be through course worksheets and mentoring by other qualified staff
Your training
- Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Level 2 (GCSE)
- Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate
- Training will be delivered in the workplace
