  • As a Trainee Dental Nurse / Receptionist, you will be integral to providing high-quality patient care in a dental setting
  • Reporting to the lead dentist, your role will involve assisting with patient interactions, managing appointments, and ensuring smooth operations within the practice

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care by assisting with dental procedures and ensuring patient comfort
  • Manage reception duties, including scheduling appointments and handling patient enquiries
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage sensitive information with confidentiality
  • Utilise IT systems for efficient communication and organisation of patient data
  • Collaborate with dental professionals to ensure smooth clinic operations and effective teamwork

As a Apprentice Dental Nurse you will achieve a Level 3 qualification following an 18-24 month training programme. Before taking your end-point assessment, you must achieve level 2 English and Maths (equivalent to GCSEs at grades A* to C) if you have not already achieved them and can provide evidence confirming this.

Where it leads

The successful candidate will work towards achieving a Level 3 qualification in dental nursing whilst gaining valuable experience in a dental practice.

Upon completion of the Level 3 qualification, you will be an experienced and qualified dental nurse, and as such, you can continue building up skills that will always be in-demand. You could progress to acquire specialist qualifications in areas such as sedation, dental radiography, and oral health education.

You may take on more responsibilities as a trainer for other dental nurses or move into a management role within your dental practice. You might decide to apply for a course to qualify as a dental hygienist or therapist.
