- Support pupils individually and in small groups to help them access learning.
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging learning activities.
- Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
- Support children with a range of learning and developmental needs.
- Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials.
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupil well-being.
- Supervise pupils during lessons and other school activities.
- Work towards achieving the Level 3 Educational Support Assistant apprenticeship standard.
Your training
- Training will be delivered online by the apprenticeship training provider.
- The apprentice will attend regular online training sessions and workshops.
- Off-the-job training will be completed during normal working hours in line with apprenticeship requirements.
- The apprentice will receive support and mentoring from experienced school staff alongside their formal training.
- The apprentice will work towards achieving the Level 3 Educational Support Assistant apprenticeship standard
Where it leads
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice may have the opportunity to progress into a permanent Educational Support Assistant role, subject to vacancies and performance. The experience and qualification gained will also provide a strong foundation for further study and career progression within the education sector, including higher-level support roles and teaching support qualifications.
