Responsibilities

Installation & Maintenance: Under guidance, install, maintain, and repair computer hardware and software, conducting regular checks to ensure ICT areas are fully operational.

User Support: Provide first-line support to staff and students, setting up equipment and resolving technical issues quickly to minimise disruption to learning.

System Integrity: Maintain system security and efficiency by managing backups, archiving files, and following strict user protocols.

Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure adherence to ICT policies, particularly regarding internet usage and safeguarding, and report any concerns immediately.

Where it leads

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will have developed practical IT skills, knowledge and experience that can support progression into a range of IT-related roles, such as IT Support Technician, IT Service Desk Technician or other technical support positions.

There may be opportunities to progress within the Trust, subject to suitable vacancies and organisational requirements. Alternatively, the skills and qualification gained through the apprenticeship will provide a strong foundation for further training, higher-level apprenticeships or employment within the wider IT sector.
