Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic repairs and maintain mechanical equipment’s like pumps, valves, pipes etc.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment’s
  • Fill out checklist and records after completing the works
  • Learn complex tasks and ability to work well with your hands
  • Maintain housekeeping and keep areas clean
  • Work with hand and power tools (wrenches, ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, drill machine, grinders) and test equipment
  • Knowledge of engineering science and technology
  • Understand hazards and risks in the work environment and keep safety as top priority
  • Use a computer and understand some basic software’s like Word and Excel
  • Ability to understand engineering and technical drawings

Your training

  • The learner will be studying the Engineering Maintenance Technician- Dual discipline Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification
  • Day release to West Suffolk College

Where it leads

  • Permanent Maintenance Engineer position available post completion
