You’ll gain hands-on experience with real jobs from day one:

  • Assisting in the preparation of digital artwork files for print
  • Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to make technical amends, typeset copy, and ensure all artwork meets strict brand guidelines
  • Learning how to set up files for various print and packaging processes
  • Creating print-ready files using industry-standard and Esko tools

You don’t need to be an expert yet, we’ll teach you everything you need to know. What matters most is your attitude, curiosity, and attention to detail.

Your training

Throughout your apprenticeship you will be supported by experienced staff at Phototype Limited and BPIF Training. Your training will be delivered through onsite and remote sessions.

Where it leads

After successful completion of the apprenticeship you will become a Junior Artworker at Phototype UK.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a meticulous eye for detail, spots spelling mistakes, misaligned logos, or small inconsistencies
  • Has a genuine interest in design or print production
  • Is eager to learn, takes direction well, and isn’t afraid to ask questions
  • Is confident using computers (Mac experience is a bonus)
  • Works well as part of a team and is reliable and punctual
  • Can manage time and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Has some familiarity with Adobe software (desirable but not essential)
