Every day will be hands on experience where you will undertake a variety of tasks, from basic manufacturing, to maintenance and repair of machines and equipment.
- Interpret drawings, patterns, templates and specifications to mark out, produce and assemble complex fabricated products to meet the required specification and quality requirements.
- Building machines from start to finish.
- Learn MIG welding.
- Operate appropriate tools and equipment to join metal parts using a range of mechanical fasteners and fixing techniques.
- Carry out quality checks on component parts and completed assemblies.
- Monitor resources and activities throughout the fabrication of products or components, identifying areas for improving the production process where possible.
Your training
The Engineering will typically take between 12-18 months to complete. You will attend College for one day a week.

Things to consider
- Able to receive constructive feedback and learn from it.
- Comply with health and safety legislation at all times and all company policies.
- Good level of math- you will be required to calculate and measure accurately when making and building machines, you will be using technical drawings when assembling machinery, and be required to produce semi technical drawings.
- There is a bus stop 0.5 miles from the premises for anyone that does not drive.
- This is a physical job, good fitness is required.
