The role will be varied and will give you the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in areas including:

  • Supporting the Business Manager with day-to-day operational and administrative tasks
  • Assisting with finance and financial administration, including processing invoices, purchase orders and maintaining accurate records
  • Providing general office and administrative support to staff across the school
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school, helping with facilities, suppliers and organisational tasks
  • Assisting with communication, including emails, correspondence and information for staff, students and families
  • Supporting the school's social media and digital communications, helping to share the achievements, activities and successes of our school community
  • Maintaining accurate records, filing and data entry
  • Communicating with staff, parents, visitors and external organisations in a professional and friendly manner

This is an amazing opportunity to learn and develop within a busy, professional office at the heart of our school. You will work alongside experiencedcolleagues who will support your apprenticeship journey, while gaining a broad understanding of how a large secondary school operates behind the scenes. No two days will be the same, making this an ideal role for someone who is organised, approachable, keen to learn and enjoys working as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Business Manager and school office
  • Assist with finance tasks, including invoices, purchase orders and record keeping
  • Support the smooth day-to-day operational running of the school
  • Maintain accurate records, filing systems and databases
  • Deal professionally with emails, telephone calls, visitors and general enquiries
  • Assist with school communications, newsletters and correspondence
  • Support social media and digital content, promoting school news, events and achievements
  • Liaise with staff, parents, suppliers and external organisations as required
  • Provide general office support and assist with school events and activities
  • Work as part of the wider school team, demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality and a positive attitude

Your training

  • Business Administrator, Level 3
  • Fortnightly attendance at Riverside College, Widnes
