Administrative Support:

  • Assist with general office duties, including filing, photocopying, and data entry
  • Update student/staff records and databases
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and phone calls
  • Greet visitors and handle inquiries at the reception desk
  • Manage the signing in and out process for visitors and staff
  • Liaise with students, staff, and external stakeholders in a professional manner
  • Provide administrative support to teachers and school leadership
  • Assist with the organisation of school trips, events, and activities.

Your training

Business administration Level 3 in Education Apprenticeship delivered by United Apprenticeships.

The apprenticeship should typically take 15 months to complete, with the final assessment taking up to 12 weeks.

It will be delivered by monthly live online workshops and a couple of in-person days that will give you the opportunity to build your confidence and learn alongside peers.

You will complete a mix of on-the-job and off-the-job learning in the workplace (approx. 6.5 hours per week). 

By the end of the programme, you will hold a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification that supports your role and future learning or career progression.

Where it leads

Following successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice may have the opportunity to progress into a permanent administrative role within the academy. The skills and experience gained will provide a strong foundation for careers in business administration, office management, finance, HR, or further professional development and higher-level apprenticeships.

Things to consider

Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role and familiarity with educational environments or working with young people would be desirable as well as a basic understanding of data management and confidentiality principles.

The candidate will be asked to compete first aid training and may be required to participate in a first aid rota. They may also be asked to attend trips in order to be the appointed first aid person.
