  • Working as part of the Sport and Active Lifestyles team you will support young people to access volunteering opportunities, provide sessions during school holiday periods, and work with community groups to provide sport and physical activity that is suitable for a range of ages and abilities.
  • You will assist with the delivery of health and wellbeing sessions in schools, communities and workplaces that will broaden your skills and understanding of the sector.
  • Day to day your role will be varied and may include office based administration, school engagement, leisure centre coaching support, attending events and delivering sports sessions.
  • If you are passionate about sport and physical activity, love coaching and helping others and want to be part of a fast paced, engaging team this role is for you!
  • This apprenticeship is part-funded and supported by Coach Core's charitable programme, creating employment opportunities for 16–24-year-olds who have faced barriers to education, employment or career progression. We support young people with the potential to succeed who may have experienced financial disadvantage, additional learning needs, caring responsibilities or other personal or socio-economic challenges.
  • No previous experience is required – we're looking for enthusiasm, potential and a willingness to learn. Coach Core provides additional support throughout the apprenticeship, while the employer is responsible for the final recruitment decision.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, applicants will have developed the skills, knowledge and practical experience needed to progress into a career in sports development, community engagement or coaching, helping to make a positive impact on people's lives through sport and physical activity.

Active4Today Newark Sports and Fitness Centre is a modern leisure facility dedicated to promoting health, fitness, and wellbeing within the local community. The centre offers a wide range of facilities, including a fully equipped gym, swimming pools, fitness classes, sports halls, and children's activities.
