Key duties include:

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of sport, physical activity and well-being activities
  • Building positive relationships with children, young people, families and community members
  • Supporting mentoring activities and personal development opportunities
  • Encouraging people to make positive lifestyle choices and engage in their community
  • Collecting attendance information, participant feedback and monitoring data
  • Ensuring activities are inclusive & welcoming
  • Undertaking training and coursework as part of the Level-3 Community Sport & Health Officer Apprenticeship

The role involves working directly with members of the public, including children and young people.

The role is community-based and involves travelling between community venues across St. Ann's, Sneinton and Clifton.

The Renewal Trust is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. We particularly welcome applications from people who live within or have strong connections to St Ann's, Sneinton and Clifton.

This apprenticeship is part-funded and supported by Coach Core's charitable programme, creating employment opportunities for 16–24-year-olds who have faced barriers to education, employment, or career progression. We support young people with the potential to succeed who may have experienced financial disadvantage, additional learning needs, caring responsibilities or other personal or socio-economic challenges. No previous experience is required – we're looking for enthusiasm, potential and a willingness to learn. Coach Core provides additional support throughout the apprenticeship, while the employer is responsible for the final recruitment decision.
