- Gain a basic understanding of structural steelwork fabrication & erection.
- Learning the Estimating and Contracts Management function within the business.
- Supporting management staff in their duties.
- Supporting the design and drawing of buildings within the office and shop floor.
- Learning the primary functions of the fabrication facility
- Attending client meetings with senior staff.
- General staff functions within the business to aid other members of the team.
- Understanding of design and drawings from engineers.
- Full training and support will be given to the successful applicant.
Your training
Level 3 Diploma on Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering. (Technical support technician).
On-the-job training four days a week at HMEL premises. Possible on site visits. Day release training one day a week at Sunderland City Centre Campus.
Where it leads
There may be the possibility of a permanent position for the right person at the end of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider
A full driving licence and car would be preferrable.
No weekend working but may be required to attend site meetings along with a member of the team. This may involve an early start & or a late finish.
