  •  Gain a basic understanding of structural steelwork fabrication & erection.
  • Learning the Estimating and Contracts Management function within the business.
  • Supporting management staff in their duties.
  • Supporting the design and drawing of buildings within the office and shop floor.
  • Learning the primary functions of the fabrication facility
  • Attending client meetings with senior staff.
  • General staff functions within the business to aid other members of the team.
  • Understanding of design and drawings from engineers.
  • Full training and support will be given to the successful applicant.

Your training

Level 3 Diploma on Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering. (Technical support technician).

On-the-job training four days a week at HMEL premises. Possible on site visits. Day release training one day a week at Sunderland City Centre Campus.

Where it leads

There may be the possibility of a permanent position for the right person at the end of the apprenticeship.

Harry Marsh (Engineers) Ltd are an award winning structural steel construction company with over 50 years of experience in the design, fabrication and erection of large steel framed buildings ranging from 20 tonnes up to 750 tonnes.

Things to consider

 A full driving licence and car would be preferrable.

No weekend working but may be required to attend site meetings along with a member of the team. This may involve an early start & or a late finish.
