What you’ll do at work:
- Prepare the surgery, materials and instruments for each patient
- Follow strict decontamination and sterilisation protocols
- Safely dispose of clinical waste
- Assist with and process dental radiographs
- Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories
- Follow all practice policies and procedures
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards, including strict patient confidentiality
Your training
An apprenticeship includes regular training within the dental setting and remote teaching with Dentrain Professionals. Off-the-job training will follow the time allocations outlined in the occupational standard.
Where it leads
After qualification, you may progress into a full-time role as a Dental Nurse, with opportunities to further your career in areas such as radiography, oral health education, or practice management.
