Prime is an innovative engineering company specialising in industrial automation, system integration and robotics.

As an Engineering Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on real customer projects from day one. Depending on your chosen pathway (Electrical or Mechanical), you'll develop practical skills in designing, building, testing and commissioning advanced automation systems.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the design and manufacture of automated machinery.
  • Building and wiring electrical control panels.
  • Site installation.
  • Supporting installation and commissioning at customer sites.
  • Using CAD software and engineering drawings.
  • Testing, fault-finding and continuous improvement.
  • Learning safe working practices and engineering standards.
  • Working closely with experienced engineers across multiple disciplines.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your engineering career in a growing business working on innovative projects across manufacturing and automation.

Block release training at MTC Ansty Business Park, Coventry.

Where it leads

Successful apprentices will have the opportunity to progress into a permanent Engineering Technician or Junior Engineer role. Prime is committed to developing talent, with opportunities to progress into Design Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics, Project Engineering or Controls Engineering as experience grows.
