Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work:
- All aspects of horse care e.g. grooming, mucking out, trimming and clipping, plaiting, lunging, health care, feeding, assisting with customer care
- Handle young fit competition horses
- Help with the preparations for training and competing
Your training
- Equine Groom Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
Where it leads
- There may be an opportunity to progress to a Level 3 Equine Apprenticeship for the right candidate

Elite dressage yard with competition horses and liveries.
Things to consider
Physically fit, with a confident and firm but kind attitude which enables the handling of large well-bred competition horses.
Must be able to get to the location as there is no public transport available.
This is a small team, so you need to love horses, be dedicated and work well with others with a positive attitude.
This rider has sponsors and owners so requires an apprentice with a professional attitude with integrity and honesty.
