This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is new to care and wants to build a rewarding career while gaining a recognised qualification. You will receive training, guidance and ongoing support while developing practical skills in person-centred care, communication, safeguarding, medication support, infection control and promoting independence.
You will work alongside experienced care professionals and gradually build the confidence and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care to a range of individuals with different needs.
- Support individuals with their day-to-day care needs while promoting their independence, dignity and choice.
- Assist with personal care where required, including washing, dressing, grooming and continence support.
- Provide companionship and emotional reassurance, taking time to listen and build positive relationships with the people you support.
- Support individuals with preparing meals, drinks and maintaining good nutrition and hydration.
- Assist with medication in line with the individual's care plan and your level of training.
- Support people with mobility and moving safely around their home, following relevant care plans and risk assessments.
- Complete accurate care records and report any changes or concerns to senior members of the team.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention and confidentiality procedures.
- Encourage individuals to participate in activities and maintain their interests, routines and connections within the community.
- Attend training, apprenticeship learning sessions, supervision and team meetings as required.

Your training
