This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is new to care and wants to build a rewarding career while gaining a recognised qualification. You will receive training, guidance and ongoing support while developing practical skills in person-centred care, communication, safeguarding, medication support, infection control and promoting independence.

You will work alongside experienced care professionals and gradually build the confidence and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care to a range of individuals with different needs. 

  • Support individuals with their day-to-day care needs while promoting their independence, dignity and choice.
  • Assist with personal care where required, including washing, dressing, grooming and continence support.
  • Provide companionship and emotional reassurance, taking time to listen and build positive relationships with the people you support.
  • Support individuals with preparing meals, drinks and maintaining good nutrition and hydration.
  • Assist with medication in line with the individual's care plan and your level of training.
  • Support people with mobility and moving safely around their home, following relevant care plans and risk assessments.
  • Complete accurate care records and report any changes or concerns to senior members of the team.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention and confidentiality procedures.
  • Encourage individuals to participate in activities and maintain their interests, routines and connections within the community.
  • Attend training, apprenticeship learning sessions, supervision and team meetings as required.

Your training

As a Community Care Worker Apprentice with A1 Care, you will become part of our friendly and supportive care team, helping people to remain safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes across the local community.
