Your day to day roles will include:

  • Servicing.
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT.
  • Delivering vehicles to off-site providers.
  • Providing roadside support for breakdowns where safe to do so.
  • Loading vehicles ready for testing.
  • Tank equipment repairs.
  • Fault Diagnostic work.
  • Fabrication work.
  • Vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Dealing with accident damage.
  • Liaising with external companies/sub contractors for
  • breakdowns/tyres etc.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy work environment.
  • Collecting parts if required to support the workshop team.
  • Help with moving vehicles on/off the ramp for cleaning.
  • Any other duties as required.
  • Some weekend work (Saturdays) may be required during busy periods.

 

Your training

The apprenticeship will be split between 80% of your time working within the workshop and 20% learning off-the-job. 

There may be a need ot travel to college for lessons on a block week basis, which may include staying over depending on distance.

You should be aware that you will be placed with a host employer but you will not be employed by them. Your placement may change during the course of your apprenticeship but TrAC will employ you throughout, as well as continuing to support you into employment or further learning at the end of your apprenticeship.
