  • All aspects of maintaining kennels hygiene to a high standard and complying with licensing guidelines. Cleaning kennels and runs, beds and bedding as well as exercise areas
  • Feeding, exercising, monitoring health and well-being of all dogs boarding
  • Customer interaction on dogs’ arrival and departure handovers

Your training

Depending on existing qualifications if any, Level 2 Work Based Animal Care and Welfare Assistant Apprenticeship.

Training will be onsite at Oakwood Park Kennels and online with The College of Animal Welfare (CAW).

Anticipated that online training will be half or one day per week.

Possibility of permanent role after the apprenticeship.

Large, busy Dog Boarding Kennels in Berkshire with a dedicated team of canine carers for our valued clients.

Things to consider

This role has a two months probationary period before you start the on-line study.

You must have your own transport to get to our location.

Working with animals is an all-weather task. Many tasks are repetitive but still require a high standard at all times. Shift work including weekends and bank holidays is not optional.

You must also be self motivated and take pride in your own work. Having a good work ethic and being reliable is also essential. In addition, we are only looking for people who have a genuine interest in and affection for dogs of ALL shapes and sizes.
