Curious about how the medicines of the future are made? Excited by science but just starting your journey? Interested in learning from world-class scientists while contributing to the development of RNA therapeutics? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
We are offering a Level3 Lab Technician apprenticeship for someone at the beginning of their scientific career who is eager to build a strong foundation in laboratory science. No prior lab experience is required, what matters most is enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. You’ll bring fresh energy to the team, and we’ll support your development throughout.
You will combine structured, accredited study with hands-on experience in a fast-paced biotech laboratory, supported by experienced mentors. Working alongside molecular biologists, chemists, and AI scientists, you will gradually build the skills needed to contribute to RNA-based medicine research.
Your responsibilities will grow as your skills develop. Early on, you’ll focus on lab fundamentals and safe working practices, progressing over time to more independent scientific tasks.
Across your apprenticeship, you can expect to:
- Learn and apply core molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, including pipetting, sample preparation, gel electrophoresis, and basic DNA/RNA handling.
- Use and maintain laboratory equipment, including cleaning, calibration, and fault identification.
- Support daily lab operations by preparing reagents, managing stock, and keeping workspaces organised.
- Assist with experiments supporting RNA research, recording observations and results accurately.
- Maintain clear laboratory records in both paper and electronic systems, building strong data integrity habits.
- Follow SOPs and good laboratory practice, including health, safety, and quality standards.
- Develop scientific knowledge through accredited study and apply it in the lab.
- Contribute to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, including meetings and discussions.
