Role-Specific Duties (Delivering Direct Care):

  • Assisting clients with personal hygiene routines, including washing, bathing, showering, dressing, grooming
  • Administering or prompting medication safely and accurately
  • Supporting clients with safe moving and handling, transfers, and mobility
  • Planning and preparing nutritious and appealing meals
  • Assisting with general tidying, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment
  • Providing a friendly, empathetic presence and emotional support
  • Providing targeted support for clients with specific conditions

Where it leads

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, there will be opportunities to progress into a Care Worker or Support Worker role. With further experience and training, there is potential to progress into Senior Care Worker, Lead Adult Care Worker or Team Leader positions.
