  • Riding and exercising horses to a competent standard
  • Feeding, Lunging
  • Carrying out daily horse care routines
  • Grooming, tacking up and turning horses in and out
  • Assisting with exercise and fitness programmes
  • Maintaining clean and tidy stables and yard areas
  • Carrying out general yard duties
  • Ensuring horses are cared for to a high standard
  • Following health and safety procedures
  • Working as part of the wider yard team

Your training

  • You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine  apprenticeship qualification, and all training will be provided on-site during your paid working hours
  • Your day-to-day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach

Where it leads

On successful completion of the Level 2 Groom Apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to progress onto a level 3 qualification and/or move into full-time employment for the right candidate.

Home Farm Stables is an established equestrian yard based in Penton Mewsey, near Andover, Hampshire.

The yard provides a hands-on environment for working with horses, with opportunities to develop practical skills in horse care, riding and exercise. Home Farm Stables has also hosted equestrian training and flatwork clinics, providing a professional environment for developing both horse and rider.
