  • Assisting with the installation of heating, water, drainage and process pipework systems
  • Learning how to measure, cut, bend, thread and assemble various types of pipework
  • Installing pipe supports, brackets and containment systems
    Assisting with the installation of pumps, valves, plant room equipment and mechanical services
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • Using hand tools, power tools and specialist equipment safely and effectively
  • Supporting pressure testing, commissioning and fault-finding activities under supervision
  • Assisting with maintenance and repair work on existing systems
  • Following health, safety and environmental procedures on site at all times
  • Working on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, including schools, hospitals, offices, factories and manufacturing facilities
  • Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe
  • Attending college or training sessions and completing apprenticeship coursework to achieve your qualification

Your training

  • Training will take place at Eastleigh College on day release

Where it leads

  • The expectation is that, if the host company is happy with your performance and you successfully complete the apprenticeship, it will lead to permanent employment
