  • Assisting with general property repairs, maintenance and improvement works
  • Learning basic carpentry, plumbing, decorating, tiling and patch plastering skills
  • Carrying out routine inspections and identifying maintenance issues
  • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Helping to prepare work areas and maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment
  • Supporting the team in completing maintenance tasks to a high standard and within agreed timescales
  • Working with customers, tenants and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner

Your training

  • Practical on-the-job training with experienced property maintenance professionals
  • Off-the-job training delivered by the training provider/college
  • Regular reviews and support from your assessor and workplace mentor
  • Functional Skills in English and maths (if required, depending on your existing qualifications)
