  • Assist with general maintenance and repair work around the school buildings.
  • Help with plumbing, electrical, painting, and decorating tasks under supervision.
  • Carry out regular checks on heating, lighting, and safety equipment.
  • Support the site team with grounds maintenance and minor landscaping.
  • Learn to follow health and safety procedures on all tasks.
  • Help respond to maintenance requests from staff and students.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organised.
  • Shadow experienced colleagues to develop practical trade skills.

Your training

Attend Slough and Langley College.

 

Where it leads

Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to a permanent Property Maintenance Operative role within the school or wider trust.
