Please note: Applicants must be 18 or over due to Ofsted regulations, hold a full UK driving licence with access to transport, and have either a Level 3 sports qualification or coaching experience to a Level 3 standard.
As an apprentice you will:
- Assist with the delivery of sport and physical activities to children and young people during school curriculum time
- Follow the PE National Curriculum and/or set programmes of study
- Deliver a range of OSHL (Out of School Hours Learning) extracurricular activities before school, at lunchtime and after school
- Support the delivery of community holiday camps during school holidays
- Help prepare equipment and activity areas for sessions
- Encourage children to participate and develop active lifestyles
Your training
- All your learning for the programme will be done remotely via Teams, including online 1:2:1 sessions with your tutor
- On completion, you will achieve a Level 4 Sports Coach qualification and Functional Skills in maths and English if required

- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required as work takes place across multiple schools)
Desirable qualifications and experience:
- Level 3 sports-related qualification or coaching experience to a Level 3 standard in sports coaching or a similar field
- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 9 – 4 / A*– C) * desirable
- GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 9 – 4 / A*–C) * desirable
