As part of the warehouse team, you will:

  • Load and unload goods, checking for damaged or missing items.
  • Pick and replenish stock for production requirements.
  • Return products to stock following production use.
  • Carry out stock checks and assist with stock control activities.
  • Update warehouse paperwork and systems accurately.
  • Move stock safely using manual handling techniques and warehouse equipment.
  • Support waste management and recycling processes.
  • Follow health and safety, quality, environmental and hygiene procedures.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards through a clean-as-you-go approach.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the warehouse and production teams.
  • Assist with goods received, storage and dispatch operations.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties required by the business.

Your training

The apprentice will work towards the Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship Standard.

Training will include:

  • Safe working practices within a warehouse environment.
  • Stock control and inventory management.
  • Receiving, storing and dispatching goods.
  • Warehouse systems and documentation.
  • Team working and communication skills.
  • Quality, hygiene and food safety awareness.

Training will be delivered through a combination of workplace learning and regular sessions with Hull College.

Where it leads

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice may have the opportunity to progress into a permanent Warehouse Operative role and further develop their skills within Chaucer Foods' warehousing and logistics operations.
