Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing personal care
  • Meal preparation
  • Companionship
  • Escorting service users when shopping
  • Light domestic duties
  • Oversee medication
  • End of life care

Your training

  • Apprenticeship Standard: Level 2 Adult Care Worker
  • You will be required to attend St Austell College a day a week as part of your apprenticeship training
  • You will receive on and off-the-job training and support from an assessor and an Apprenticeship advisor

Where it leads

  • On the completion of your apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to progress within the business, eventually as a Senior Carer or Supervisor
  • Opportunities to springboard to an NHS career

Things to consider

The apprentice must either have a driving licence or own transport around the Penzance area. 

Moving and handling will be required in the role. 

The apprentice must be honest and trustworthy, able to work alone and within a team and be able to undertake regular mandatory training.
