You'll be joining an award-winning apprenticeship programme with a track record of developing apprentices into highly skilled engineers. What will the apprentice be doing? As part of the production team at Wolverton Works, you'll receive hands-on training while working alongside experienced engineers who will support and mentor you throughout your apprenticeship.
Your duties will include:
- Installing and maintaining electrical systems on railway vehicles
- Testing and inspecting electrical equipment
- Diagnosing and repairing faults
- Learning how to use specialist engineering tools and equipment
- Supporting maintenance and refurbishment projects
- Following strict health and safety procedures
- Attending college on day release to develop your technical knowledge
- Building a portfolio of evidence showcasing your skills and progress

Your training
You will work towards a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Standard Level 3.
Your training will be delivered through a combination of:
- Practical workplace learning
- Day-release attendance at Milton Keynes College
- Mentoring from experienced engineering professionals
- Industry-specific rail engineering training
- Health & Safety and compliance training
Throughout the apprenticeship, you'll gain valuable technical skills, industry experience and a recognised qualification that can launch a long-term engineering career.
