The apprentice will learn how to:
- Prepare floors ready for installation, including cleaning and levelling subfloors.
- Measure rooms and help calculate the materials needed for each job.
- Install carpets, vinyl flooring and luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) to a high standard.
- Use specialist flooring tools and equipment safely and correctly.
- Handle and transport flooring materials carefully.
- Work alongside experienced floorlayers to complete installations in customers' homes.
- Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Attend apprenticeship training and complete coursework and assessments.
Your training
During your Level 2 Floor Layer apprenticeship programme you will receive training both off and on-the-job. You will be trained at the employer within the workplace and also at Webs Training in Beeston on a block release basis for a week at a time every 10 weeks, costs are covered by the employer.
Where it leads
Excellent opportunities to progress into a qualified floorlayer position after successfully completing the apprenticeship.
