At Copperclay Mews we are looking for engaging and positive Apprentice Support Workers to join our team to support adults with learning disabilities and intensive specialist support needs, along side this great career opportunity you will study your Level 2 in Health and Social Care alongside York College.
As an Apprentice Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more independent, dignified and happy life. We are looking for forward thinkers who are able to offer new ideas on how to develop a person’s opportunities and skills ranging from developing their own garden to cooking nutritious and different meals.
Not all support work will take place within the homes of the people we support. There will be lots of opportunities to access the local community and engage with the interests of the people you support. The people we support all have different interests and therefore we are looking for flexible and open minded support workers to support with activities such as walking, days out to the cinema or visits to the seaside to name a few.
On a daily basis you will have a strong support network from the management team at Copperclay Mews. We are a proactive team and work in partnership to ensure the best support for colleagues is provided, so don’t worry if you are new to care, there is always someone you can turn to.
We will require you to be available for full shifts due to minimal public transport in the area.
Your training
Off the job training will take place at York College on a day release basis and the remainder of the training will be in the workplace.

Once you have successfully completed the apprenticeship, there are a range of career progression opportunities available. Depending on your performance, skills, and business needs, you may be able to progress into a Team Leader role or explore other internal opportunities across the company. The apprenticeship provides the knowledge and experience needed to build a strong foundation for future career development, alongside training completed whilst working at Hesley.

Things to consider
Candidates need to be 18 or over.
GCSE Maths/English (Grade 4/C) is desirable, however, a minimum of Level 1 in maths and English is essential for this apprenticeship with a requirement to upskill to Level 2 functionals skills.
Easingwold is located in the middle of the countryside and has limited transport links. There are no direct public transport routes to the site, so travelling by bus or train can be difficult and may require multiple connections. As a result, having access to your own transport is usually the most practical and reliable way to commute to the location.
