Care Support Apprentice - Key Responsibilities:

As a Care Support Apprentice, you will learn how to provide high-quality care and support to people in their own homes while developing valuable skills and experience.

You will:

  • Support individuals with their daily routines while promoting independence, dignity, and respect
  • Read and understand care plans, risk assessments, and guidance to provide safe and personalised support
  • Help with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming, and supporting with toileting where required
  • Support with mobility, moving and handling, and safely using equipment
  • Prepare meals and drinks, and support individuals with eating and drinking
  • Support with medication in line with training, care plans, and company procedures
  • Complete accurate care records using digital systems and report any changes or concerns
  • Provide companionship, conversation, and social support to help reduce isolation
  • Support with light household tasks such as laundry, shopping, and maintaining a safe environment
  • Work closely with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements at all times
  • Attend training sessions, team meetings, supervisions, and reviews to continue developing your skills
  • Wear the correct uniform and represent the organisation professionally
  • Ensure personal transport requirements are met if driving between visits
