What You'll Be Doing

As an Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprentice, you will support engineering projects from concept through to production. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with customers to understand technical requirements and project specifications.
  • Assisting with the development of bespoke electrical and cable assembly solutions.
  • Producing and updating engineering drawings using CAD software.
  • Supporting prototype builds, product development, and testing activities.
  • Assisting with technical proposals, quotations, and project documentation.
  • Creating work instructions, manufacturing documentation, and test procedures.
  • Working with production teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Learning and applying industry quality standards, including AS9100 requirements.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and engineering projects across the business.

Your training

You will complete a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship, combining practical workplace experience with structured off-the-job learning delivered by an approved training provider.

This apprenticeship will require 1 day a week training at Oaklands College Welwyn Garden City Campus.
