Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Reflect the vision, mission, aims and values of the College
  • Assist with the planning and administration of the College Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme
  • Support the monitoring and scheduling of statutory inspections and compliance activities
  • Maintain Estates and Facilities records, databases and asset registers
  • Assist with reactive maintenance requests and monitor progress through to completion
  • Support the administration of Estates and facilities management systems
  • Assist in monitoring service delivery standards and contractor performance
  • Support energy, sustainability and environmental initiatives across the College
  • Verify that contractor documentation, insurance and certification records remain current
  • Observe contractor activities and raise concerns where standards are not met
  • Support the collection of contractor quotations and procurement information 
  • Assist in maintaining statutory compliance documentation including fire safety, legionella, gas, electrical and lifting equipment records
  • Assist with monitoring and tracking actions arising from audits, inspections and risk assessments 
  • Support fire safety management arrangements including testing and record keeping
  • Assist with accident, incident and near miss investigations where appropriate
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the College
  • Support compliance reporting and key performance indicator monitoring
  • Assist with the processing of purchase orders and invoices
  • Attend all apprenticeship training, workshops and reviews 
  • Complete assignments and evidence requirements within agreed timescales
  • Actively develop knowledge of Facilities Management, Compliance and Health & Safety legislation and best practice

This apprenticeship is black release to Macclesfield College (5 weeks with employer and 1 week in college).
