What You'll Be Doing:

No two days are the same! You'll work alongside experienced groundworkers on exciting projects across Bedfordshire, Luton, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas, helping to prepare sites and build infrastructure that communities rely on.

You'll learn how to:

  • Prepare construction sites for new developments
  • Install drainage systems and ducting
  • Lay paths, kerbs and paving
  • Work with concrete and foundations
  • Use professional tools and equipment safely
  • Support machinery and plant operations
  • Follow construction drawings and plans

Your training

Attend Milton Keynes College one day per week while gaining hands-on experience on site. You'll work towards a Groundworker Apprenticeship and CSCS Card, with support from experienced trainers, mentors and construction professionals throughout your apprenticeship.

Where it leads

This apprenticeship could be the start of a long-term career. Successful apprentices can progress into skilled Groundworker and Plant Operator roles, with opportunities to gain additional qualifications and training on Diggers, Dumpers and Rollers.

Things to consider

Based in Bedford with travel to sites across the local area. A driving licence is preferred but not essential. You'll also need to travel to Milton Keynes College for training. This is an outdoor, hands-on role involving digging, groundwork and site preparation in all weather conditions.
