  • Customer care - offering refreshments and magazines, dealing with enquiries.
  • Reception duties - meeting and greeting, answering the phone, booking appointments, dealing with enquiries.
  • Preparing clients for stylists - shampooing, scalp massage, conditioning treatments, removing, colour/foils, rough drying, neutralising perms/straightening/smoothing treatments.
  • General tidying of salon & laundry.

Salon training sessions include:

  • Knowing when to ask for support.
  • Reception/customer care.
  • Blow dry/styling.
  • Cutting hair.
  • All aspects of colouring.
  • Perming.
  • Hair ups.
  • Dealing with all hair textures.

Your training

Work based learning with attendance at Hertford Regional College Ware campus one day per week to achieve the VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing and the Level 2 Hair Professional Apprenticeship standard.

Where it leads

There will be opportunities for progression and a permanent position subject to performance.
