About the role:

As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you'll train towards becoming a registered healthcare professional, working alongside pharmacists to ensure the safe, accurate and lawful supply of medicines. This is a genuinely demanding apprenticeship that will stretch you academically and professionally — you'll develop deep clinical knowledge, sharp technical skills, and real responsibility for patient safety.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing, assembling and supplying prescription medicines accurately and safely, in line with legal and clinical standards.
Providing clear, person-centred advice on prescription and over-the-counter medicines, and referring appropriately to pharmacists or other healthcare professionals.
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, including stock control, ordering, business processes and clinical governance.
Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions, orders and patient records accurately.
  • Supporting and helping to train pharmacy support staff as you progress.
  • Contributing to audits, service evaluations and continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality and patient safety at all times.

Qualification:

  • Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A-level).
  • On successful completion, you'll be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Training delivered through blended learning alongside your role.

What we're looking for:

  • A strong academic background and a quick, curious mind.
  • Excellent numeracy and confidence with detailed, technical information.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a genuine commitment to patient safety.
  • Clear communication skills and a professional, calm manner.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to commit fully to the length and demands of the apprenticeship.

Why apply?

  • Train towards a regulated healthcare profession with long-term career security.
  • Earn a competitive salary while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
  • Progress into more senior clinical, managerial or specialist roles within pharmacy.

Please note: this vacancy may close earlier than the stated deadline if a suitable candidate is found — so don't wait to apply!
