At Newtech, you'll become part of a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can develop valuable skills, gain practical experience and learn from experienced professionals. As a Purchasing Apprentice, you will support the Purchasing and Stores department, working closely with experienced colleagues to ensure the smooth procurement of materials and components required for manufacturing projects. Your responsibilities will include assisting with purchasing activities, helping to select suppliers and maintain positive supplier relationships, supporting the development of preferred supplier agreements and identifying opportunities for cost savings. You will raise purchase orders using Sage, issue them to suppliers and monitor deliveries to ensure components arrive in line with project schedules.

You will also assist with the day-to-day organisation of the stores area, ensuring stock is accurately managed and that goods received and dispatched are processed efficiently. The role involves liaising with suppliers to monitor lead times, obtain quotations and update bills of materials where required. In addition, you will help produce reports and communicate any critical information affecting projects, suppliers or business operations to the management team.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, have strong problem-solving skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. A positive, proactive attitude, excellent attention to detail and good organisational skills are essential, along with a willingness to develop new knowledge and embrace new technologies.
