- Complete vehicle servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and safety checks at customer locations, including homes and workplaces
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to support accurate fault finding
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining work carried out
- Manage daily job schedules, tools, and vehicle stocks
- Work under the guidance of an experienced RAC Team while developing independence in the role
For the first 4-months of your role, you will be shadowing an experienced autocare technician, after this initial 4-months you will then receive your very own RAC van.
The role is mobile, however at the beginning of your shift you will meet your mentor at an agreed location, this potential location is listed in the advert.
Your training
You will undertake the Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship delivered by S&B Automotive Academy. Training includes structured block release sessions at S&B’s Training Academy in Bristol combined with on-the-job learning. You will be supported throughout by the RAC Academy Team and Workplace Mentor and an S&B Development Coach. Progress is tracked using a digital Logbook, and you will complete gateway assessments followed by an End-Point Assessment.

Things to consider
- Hold a full UK (manual) driving licence with a maximum of three penalty points
- Have GCSE English and maths at Grade 4/C or above (desirable)
- Be willing to travel and complete training in Bristol during block release periods
