As a Care Support Apprentice, you will:

  • Earn while you learn and work towards a recognised Adult Care Worker Level 2 apprenticeship.
  • Gain valuable hands-on experience supporting people in their own homes.
  • Help individuals maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.
  • Receive training and support to develop a rewarding career in adult social care.
  • Become part of a caring team that makes a genuine difference every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting individuals with their daily routines while promoting independence, dignity and respect.
  • Reading and following care plans, risk assessments and guidance to deliver safe, personalised support.
  • Assisting with personal care, including washing, dressing, grooming and toileting where required.
  • Supporting individuals with mobility, moving and handling, and the safe use of equipment.
  • Preparing meals and drinks and providing support with eating and drinking.
  • Supporting with medication in accordance with your training, care plans and company procedures.
  • Completing accurate care records using digital systems and reporting any changes or concerns.
  • Providing companionship, conversation and social support to help reduce isolation.
  • Assisting with light household duties, including laundry and shopping, while maintaining a safe home environment.
  • Working closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care.
  • Following company policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements and confidentiality guidance.
  • Attending training sessions, team meetings, supervision sessions and progress reviews.
  • Wearing the correct uniform and representing the organisation professionally.
  • Meeting the necessary personal transport requirements when travelling between care visits.

Your training

All apprenticeship training will be delivered remotely by eTraining. You will take part in scheduled online training sessions and complete apprenticeship activities within the workplace. A full training schedule, including session dates and frequency will be provided once you commence your apprenticeship. You will need access to a laptop or desktop computer and a reliable internet connection.
