As part of the apprenticeship you will assist in the day-to-day running of the kitchen at a popular Burslem venue, prepping and cooking food through regular service and events.

This will include things such as:

  • Prepare and cook fresh and frozen meat, fish, and poultry
  • Prepare and cook fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables
  • Cook poached, simmered, steamed, boiled, braised, stewed, baked, grilled, and fried dishes
  • Undertake stock control, storage, and rotation
  • Work as part of a team to support service delivery
  • Monitor and record food temperatures and manage allergens during preparation, cooking, holding, and serving
  • Reduce the waste of resources, acting to measure and reduce plate waste, exercise portion control, and maximise yield

Your training

  • Production Chef Level 2
  • Training will take place one day per week at Stoke-on-Trent Colleges' Cauldon Campus (ST4 2DG)

Following completion of the apprenticeship, the right candidate will have the opportunity to stay on as a permanent member of staff.
