The role provides a mix of site experience, classroom learning, and the opportunity to build a solid career in the electrical industry.

  • Assist electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
  • Learn to install wiring, lighting, and power distribution systems under supervision
  • Support testing and inspection of electrical installations
  • Help identify and resolve faults using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards on site
  • Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used
  • Assist with reading and interpreting technical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe work environment
  • Attend college training sessions and complete coursework on time
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and contribute positively to the team

Essential Application Criteria: (please state any qualifications, skills, experience, knowledge, and attributes candidates must have to help us filter the right candidates to you):

  • GCSE A*-C/9-4 in maths and English (or equivalent functional skills)
  • MUST LIVE IN TOWER HAMLETS
  • Site experience is necessary

Desirable Application Criteria: (Preferred but not essential qualifications, skills, experience, knowledge):

  • Strong interest in electrical installation
  • Good practical and problem-solving skills
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic numeracy and attention to detail

Your training

The apprentice will attend Waltham Forest College, located at 707 Forest Road, Walthamstow, London, E17 4JB, as part of their apprenticeship training.

  • 1 day per week at college
  • On-site college-based training
  • The remaining days will be spent working with Laser Electrical, gaining practical experience across a range of electrical installation and maintenance projects
  • Training will support the apprentice in building the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to successfully complete their apprenticeship

Where it leads

Qualified Electrician → Experienced/Senior Electrician → Supervisor/Approved Electrician → Electrical Project/Contracts Manager.
