  • Preparing and mixing slip: mixing clay and water to create the liquid clay (slip) according to specific formulations
  • Pouring Slip into Moulds: pouring the slip into moulds to form the desired shapes, often in a repetitive process
  • Monitoring mould Filling: ensuring the correct amount and thickness of slip is poured into the mould to prevent defects
  • Handling Demoulding: Carefully removing the cast items from the moulds to avoid breakage or damage
  • Drying and Placement: placing cast items on drying racks or dryer shelves
  • Inspecting and Touch-up: inspecting the cast items for imperfections and performing minor touch- ups
  • Maintaining Moulds: Keeping moulds clean, dry and in good working condition
  • Record keeping: Recording production data and reporting any issues to supervisor
  • Assisting with cleaning and maintenance: assisting in cleaning the work area and maintaining tools and equipment

Your training

  • Group sessions in Yeovil College once every 4 weeks plus 4 individual study hours in both July and August

Where it leads

We would like to offer a permanent role at TG Green after the course. Few of our current team leaders are successful apprenticeship course finishers.
