  • Learn safe use of hand tools, workshop equipment and basic engineering practices at Lanemark House
  • Assist with the assembly and testing of gas trains, control panels, FD and TX burners under supervision
  • Support packing/despatch, goods inwards and general workshop activities as required
  • Develop skills at the manufacturing site using CNC punching/machining equipment, manual lathes, rolling equipment, welding and robotic/automated systems
  • Read engineering drawings and use measuring/inspection equipment to check components against requirements
  • Support general machining, fabrication, material preparation and machine-shop activities
  • Maintain quality, health and safety and workshop housekeeping standards throughout
  • Complete college/off-the-job training and apprenticeship evidence, taking on greater responsibility as competence develops

Your training

Level 3 Machining Technician apprenticeship (ST1305), combining structured off-the-job training with workplace development. 

Block release over a 6 week cycle so 5 weeks in work and 1 week at Mira Technology institute CV10 0UX with NWSLC.

Workplace training will be delivered across Lanemark House and the manufacturing site, covering assembly, machining, fabrication, inspection, quality and safe workshop practice.

Where it leads

On successful completion, the aim is progression into a permanent skilled manufacturing/machining role at Lanemark, with potential development into CNC machining/programming, fabrication, quality or production engineering.

Things to consider

This is a practical workshop-based role across two Lanemark sites in Nuneaton. It involves working around machinery, noise, welding/fabrication activities and wearing PPE. Travel arrangements between sites should be considered and will be discussed at interview.
