  • TCP/IP networking.
  • Switching and routing.
  • VLANs, firewalls and VPNs.
  • Network troubleshooting.
  • Windows and/or Linux infrastructure.
  • Monitoring, logging or SOC/NOC tools.
  • Cyber security awareness.
  • Documentation and change control.

Useful experience includes:

  • Industrial networks.
  • SCADA / PLC / automation environments.
  • Critical infrastructure.
  • Cisco/Allied Telesis, Fortinet, Hirschmann or Moxa.
  • SIEM or log monitoring, SNMP Zabbix, Zeek, XDR - Wazah.
  • Scripting or automation.
  • IEC 62443 / NCSC CAF / CE or other cyber security frameworks.

Your training

As part of the Level 4 Network Engineer Apprenticeship Standard, you’ll be on a fast track to an industry-recognised qualification and your dedicated industry coach will support you through a blended approach that will include remote, in-person, 1-2-1 and group learning.

This role may involve occasional travel to customer sites (expensed)
Training and mentorship will be provided throughout the apprenticeship
Opportunity to progress into a full-time engineering role upon successful completion.
