- Install and repair roof coverings
- Assist with stripping and replacing existing roofs
- Measure and cut materials to fit specific roof designs
- Install underlay, battens, insulation, and ventilation systems
- Work safely at height using appropriate equipment and PPE
- Identify and report roof defects or damage
- Load, unload, and organise tools and materials on site
- Follow technical drawings and supervisor instructions
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times
- Support lead roofers with more complex installations and repairs
Your training
- Roofer Level 2
- You will attend Stoke on Trent College's Burslem Campus on a block release - 1 week in 5
- Functional Skills (maths & English) if required
Where it leads
After completing the Level 2 Roofer Apprenticeship, for the right candidate, there may be an opportunity for a permanent position within the company.

Incorporated in 1981 Crosby Roofing Ltd has successfully worked in the commercial and private sector construction industry throughout the Midlands and North West for over 40 years. We are a small family-run business with safe working practices and quality output at our core.
Our geographical area spans the West Midlands, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire & Cheshire, though we do have a few isolated sites further into the north west area.Currently we specialise in new roof installations for regional and national housebuilders such as Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon Homes & Seddon Homes as well as smaller local developers on bespoke projects and luxury dwellings. We are CHAS, SMAS and Constructionline SSIP accredited and ensure our workforce is fully CSCS compliant.
Things to consider
- The positions are within teams whose staff are based in Newcastle-under-Lyme and West Stoke. Transport can be provided with pick-up and drop-off available from your home address, provided you are located within these areas. Alternatively, applicants who drive must be able to travel to these locations for a 7:00 am start
- You will be required to pass the relevant Health and Safety test to obtain a CSCS card
