Your responsibilities:

Client Care

  • Greet clients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Prepare clients for salon services
  • Offer refreshments and ensure clients are comfortable
  • Promote a positive salon experience for all clients

Salon Support

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional salon environment
  • Prepare workstations for stylists
  • Clean and sterilise equipment in line with health and safety procedures
  • Manage salon laundry and replenish stock when required

Hairdressing Duties

  • Shampoo, condition and treat hair under supervision
  • Assist stylists with colouring and lightening services
  • Support cutting and styling services
  • Learn consultation techniques and client care procedures
  • Develop skills in blow-drying, finishing and styling hair
  • Observe and assist experienced team members to build technical knowledge.

Apprenticeship Learning

  • Attend all apprenticeship training sessions and reviews
  • Complete coursework, assignments and assessments within required timescales
  • Build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating skills and knowledge
  • Develop professional behaviours expected within the hairdressing industry

Skills and Qualities Required

  • Passion for hairdressing and the beauty industry
  • Friendly and confident communication skills
  • Good timekeeping and attendance
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Professional appearance
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Desired Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and maths is desirable but not essential
  • No previous hairdressing experience required, although an interest in the industry is essential

Your training

Training with Milton Keynes College. Ongoing training, support and development with the employer.

A role within the company may be on offer upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
