Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Disassemble cylinder heads and prepare them for machining
- Inspect engine components to see if they can be reused or need replacing
- Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and dial gauges
- Pressure test cylinder heads to check for internal cracks or leaks
- Clean and prepare components using specialised workshop equipment
- Maintain job cards to accurately track work progress for our customers
You will work alongside experienced technicians to learn these duties as this role is integral to the smooth operation of this department within the workshop.
Your training
- The learner will be studying the Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification
- Day release to West Suffolk College
