The role will entail troubleshooting hardware and software issues on Windows and Mac-based personal computers and devices, diagnosing and repairing those issues and communicating with our domestic and business customers in order to maintain our excellent customer service standards and to ensure healthy and on-target margins. The role is customer facing and will involve sales of our retail hardware stock, computer accessories and printer ink.

Things to consider

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products & Office 365
  • Installing Windows and Mac based operating systems on to customer’s devices
  • Understanding of basic networking, IP configuration, and troubleshooting connection issues
  • Able to use basic NTFS & FAT32 file systems for safe and secure data handling and backup
  • Basic understanding of data security and data security software
  • Knowledge of internet, network and cloud security, firewalls and antivirus products
  • Ability to communicate with customers and explain our products, services, and service philosophy
  • It would be an advantage if the applicant has a working knowledge of PC hardware (PC builds, hardware troubleshooting & diagnosis of common hardware issue)
  • A desirable extra skill would be an ability to disassemble laptops, install component replacements such as keyboards, screens & memory
